Strategic Industry Identification and Analysis

In 2012, EPR completed a comprehensive assessment of the key industries of strategic economic importance to the regional economy in the northeast.  This involved identifying and researching the underpinnings of key industry clusters and their supporting economic development resource bases.  The project also involved devising strategies to help support these sectors’/clusters’ identified strategic economic development needs by identifying practical-actionable strategies.

Benchmark Study of the Economic Impact of Visitor Expenditures

In 2012, EPR completed a comprehensive benchmark study of the economic and state fiscal impact of the travel and tourism industry on a state economy.  During this assignment, EPR worked to complete a comprehensive survey of the Lodging industry and completed a “ground-breaking” survey of workers in the state’s tourism sector to help better understand the employment opportunities provided by the industry.

Impact Study: Government Program

For a period of three federal fiscal years (FY04, FY05, FY06), EPR performed an impact analysis of the business assistance program of the Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) in three states for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in three states using IMPLAN.  The analyses used quantifiable telephone survey responses to estimate direct, indirect and induced impacts on employment, personal income and output attributable to the business assistance received free of charge from SATOP.

Regional Housing Market Analysis and 10-Year Forecast of Housing Supply and Demand (June 2017)

Three County Housing Study

In 2007, EPR completed a comprehensive housing study of a three county area in the Hudson Valley of New York.  This comprehensive study included: (1) an assessment of the regional economy, demographic and housing market situation, (2) an assessment of regional land use and other constraints, and (3) an assessment of the best options for dealing with the county’s housing market situation.  The study also involved a significant public involvement component, including work sessions with each county executive and members of each county’s legislature.
